:: September 10-24: JENNA BEAN VEATCH / PURPOSEFUL PLAY ::

This class is taught from the perspective that fun is not frivolous, but rather, that it is deeply important. Improvisation will be treated here as a playful release, a path to deep connection, and a valuable choreographic tool. We'll explore, learn, and create by playing games, working to awaken both our physical bodies and our creative, productive minds.

Jenna Bean Veatch has been accused of creating "pure, unadulterated, heart-stopping whimsy." She has taught movement to students ages 1-71 and at various times has taken on the roles of dancer, choreographer, performance artist, clown, ukulele songstress, magical fairy, dancing doll, anti-war dance demonstration organizer, and Marshmallow Peep. In addition to performing her own solo work, she and Alysa Haas make up the dynamic dance duo The Tumbleweed Bandits. She also currently dances with Ricki Mason as one of the Launchettes, and works with Lucia Neare's Theatrical Wonders as a performer and choreographer.
